Social distancing in the workplace

For some employers, such as manufacturers, home working is simply not an option for the majority of the work force.

Employers need to implement social distancing by their workforce as far as possible when carrying out their jobs to protect their workers, customers and other members of the public.

To help employers with this difficult task, the Government has published sector-specific guidance on social distancing in the workplace during coronavirus (COVID-19): sector guidance.
